Community Rules
NaijaSocialHub is built on honest, anonymous conversation. These rules exist to keep our community safe, respectful, and genuinely useful.
Last updated: April 2026
We believe in freedom with responsibility. You can say what you really think — anonymously, openly, and without fear — as long as you respect the line between honest expression and harmful content. NaijaSocialHub moderators (ranked Corporal and above) and our admin team review reports and enforce these rules. When in doubt, don't post it.
Keep It Real, Not Harmful
- →Share real information. Deliberate misinformation designed to deceive is not allowed.
- →Satire and opinion are welcome — label them clearly so readers understand the intent.
- →Do not impersonate real individuals, brands, public figures, or NaijaSocialHub staff/moderators.
- →Unverified "expose" or "Break Story" posts must clearly state that the claims are alleged and unverified.
Respect Every Naija Soul
- →No hate speech targeting ethnicity, religion, gender, sexuality, disability, or tribe.
- →Healthy debate is encouraged. Personal attacks, name-calling, and ad hominem arguments are not.
- →Do not doxx (reveal private real-world information about) other users under any circumstances.
- →Bullying, harassment, or coordinated attacks on individuals — whether on NaijaSocialHub or cross-platform — will result in immediate action, up to permanent ban.
- →Cross-platform harassment (following users from NaijaSocialHub to harass them on other platforms) is treated as severely as on-platform harassment.
Adult Content Policy
- →No explicit sexual content, nudity, or pornography.
- →No content that sexualises minors in any form — zero tolerance, permanent ban, and immediate report to appropriate authorities.
- →Sexually suggestive or mature discussion content must be posted only in relevant categories (e.g., Relationship Wahala) and not in general or public-facing feeds.
- →Any content involving non-consensual sharing of intimate material will result in immediate permanent ban and may be reported to law enforcement.
Violence & Dangerous Content
- →No graphic violence, gore, or content that glorifies or celebrates harm to any person or animal.
- →Threats against specific individuals or groups — direct or implied — are prohibited.
- →Do not share, encourage, or romanticise self-harm or suicide methods.
- →No promotion of terrorism, extremist ideologies, vigilante justice, or organized criminal activity.
- →Content discussing real-world violent events must be factual and must not incite further violence.
Spam, Manipulation & Platform Integrity
- →No vote manipulation — coordinating upvotes, downvotes, or engagement via external channels (WhatsApp groups, Telegram, etc.) to artificially inflate or suppress posts.
- →No repetitive posting of the same or substantially similar content across multiple categories.
- →No unsolicited promotional content, pyramid schemes, multi-level marketing, or chain-message spam.
- →Fake accounts, sock puppets, or bot activity of any kind will result in permanent ban of all associated accounts.
- →No buying or selling of upvotes, comments, views, or any form of engagement.
- →Do not attempt to exploit bugs or glitches in the trending algorithm, earnings system, or any platform feature. Report them to [email protected].
Privacy & Sensitive Information
- →Do not share other people's private photos, messages, contact details, or personal documents without their explicit consent.
- →Do not share financial information, bank account details, BVN, or account credentials — yours or anyone else's.
- →Medical, health, or biometric information about individuals should never be shared without consent.
- →Court documents, legal filings, or police records may be shared only if they are publicly available through official sources.
- →Do not post screenshots of private conversations without consent from ALL participants.
Illegal & Prohibited Commerce
- →No pirated software, media, copyrighted material, or links to pirated content.
- →No sale, promotion, or facilitation of illegal goods or services — including drugs, weapons, counterfeit currency, or fraudulent documents.
- →No content that facilitates fraud, scamming, 419, Yahoo Yahoo, or any form of financial crime.
- →Reporting of illegal activity must be factual and specific — false accusations made maliciously are themselves a violation.
- →Hustle (marketplace) listings must be for legitimate, legal services only. Fraudulent or deceptive listings will be removed and the account banned.
Authentic Posts & AI Content
- →Post in the correct category. Off-topic posts may be moved or removed by moderators.
- →Break Story posts must represent genuinely new, developing information — not recycled or repackaged old news.
- →Confess posts must be genuine personal confessions. Fictional or fabricated confession content designed to mislead or provoke is not allowed.
- →Images, videos, and media must be genuinely relevant to the content of your post.
- →AI-generated content: Posts written entirely or substantially by AI tools (including ChatGPT, Claude, or any LLM) must be original in idea and reviewed by you before posting. Do not flood the platform with raw AI output. NaijaSocialHub values human voices, experience, and authenticity above all. Accounts found mass-posting unedited AI-generated content will be treated as spam.
- →If you use AI to assist with writing, ensure the final post reflects your genuine experience, opinion, or voice. The community is here for real people — not bots.
Paid Groups & Creator Responsibility
- →Creators of paid (subscription) groups must accurately represent what subscribers will receive before they pay. Misleading or deceptive group descriptions will result in group suspension and forfeiture of earnings.
- →Paid group content must comply with all Community Guidelines. No paid group may be used to distribute prohibited content behind a paywall.
- →Creators must deliver consistent value to subscribers. Groups that collect subscriptions and go inactive may be suspended and subscribers refunded at NaijaSocialHub's discretion.
- →Creators may not use paid groups for: advance-fee fraud, fake investment schemes, or any form of financial scam.
- →Subscriber disputes are taken seriously. Creators with excessive dispute rates or chargebacks may lose paid group privileges.
Real-Life Conduct
- →NaijaSocialHub does not host or endorse any real-life gatherings or events. Users engage with one another at their own risk.
- →Do not use NaijaSocialHub to promote gatherings where violence, harassment, or illegal activity is planned or likely.
- →Report suspicious activity immediately via the Report function or [email protected].
Moderator Conduct & Abuse of Power
- →Community moderators (ranked Corporal and above) are entrusted with enforcement powers. These powers must be used fairly, consistently, and without personal bias.
- →Moderators may not: use their powers to settle personal disputes, target users they disagree with, protect friends who violate rules, or demand payment/benefits in exchange for leniency.
- →Moderator actions (warnings, mutes, bans) are logged and subject to admin review. Abuse of moderator powers will result in loss of moderation privileges, rank demotion, or account termination.
- →If you believe a moderator has acted unfairly, you may appeal via [email protected]. Do not retaliate against or harass the moderator — use the appeal process.
Reporting & No Retaliation
- →Report violations using the ⋯ menu on any post, comment, or profile. Select the reason that best matches the violation.
- →Reporting is anonymous — the person you report will not know who reported them.
- →Retaliation against someone you suspect reported you is strictly prohibited and will result in escalated penalties.
- →Do not abuse the reporting system. False or malicious reporting (weaponising the report function to harass or silence others) is itself a violation and will result in action against your account.
- →Urgent reports involving immediate safety risks (CSAM, credible violence threats, suicide risk) are escalated to the top of the review queue. For life-threatening emergencies, contact Nigerian emergency services directly.
Enforcement & Consequences
Violations are reviewed by community moderators and the NaijaSocialHub admin team. Consequences scale with severity, frequency, and intent.
| Action | When applied | Reversible? |
|---|---|---|
| Warning | Minor first violations, low-impact rule breaks | Yes |
| 24-hr Mute | 3 warnings in 7 days, or moderate violations | Yes |
| Temporary Ban | Repeated violations, hate speech, harassment | Yes |
| Permanent Ban | CSAM, extreme violence, terrorism, repeat offenders | No |
Appeal Process
We know moderation is not perfect. If you believe a moderation action against your account was incorrect, you have the right to appeal.
1. Email [email protected] within 14 calendar days of the action
2. Include your username and a clear explanation of why you believe the action was incorrect
3. Our appeals team (separate from the moderation team) reviews every appeal within 14 business days
4. Appeal outcomes: Upheld (action reversed, removed from record), Modified (reduced to lesser action), or Denied (action stands)
5. Appeal decisions are final. Repeated appeals on the same action without new evidence will not be reviewed
Note: Appealing does not guarantee reversal. We overturn actions only when there is clear evidence of error, procedural unfairness, or disproportionate penalty.

2. Select "Report" and choose a reason
