Dr. Oluwaseun Ogunyemi, a sociologist who actually did the research, interviewed 31 Nigerian migrants in the UK and US and found that 21 of them said life abroad was worse than they expected. Not better, worse. These are people who sold land, took loans, left good jobs in Nigeria thinking they were heading to paradise.

One man in the US told her directly: "I thought I was coming to paradise... It was a different ball game... you get to work very hard." Another Instagram user sarcastically said "One might even pay for the air we breathe in and out over here." And the healthcare? 68% of respondents said it was easier to see a doctor in Nigeria than in the UK or US. Imagine that. You japa to a place where you cannot even access medical care without waiting months or going broke.

So tell me, is it really worth it to leave a 400k/month job in Lagos to go and clean toilets in London? Be honest. How many of you are actually living better abroad than you would at home, or are you just too ashamed to admit the truth?
