Child labor in Nigeria is pure hypocrisy and poverty

Na wa o. I just read this report from ICIR about how child labor still dey strong in Nigeria despite all the laws we get. The article mention say poverty na the main driver, and the government dey pretend like enforcement fit work when parents no fit feed their pikin.

I no get time for people wey dey shout "send dem to school" when the mama no get money for transport, not to talk of books and uniform. Abi you think say the 9-year-old wey dey hawk pure water for Aba road by 6am dey do am because e like am? Poverty dey force hand. The law say no child labor, but the law no put food for table.

Which kain country we dey where we dey sign international agreements but we no fit provide free basic education and feeding for primary school children? Be honest, if your family dey hungry and your 12-year-old fit bring in 2,000 naira per day, you go still send am to school? Let's argue this.
