US Congressman Riley Moore is celebrating our State Police Bill more than our own lawmakers

So US congressman Riley Moore just hailed Nigeria's House of Representatives for passing the State Police Bill and honestly this is giving me mixed feelings. The man posted on his X handle saying allowing states to have their own police is critical for ending persecution of Christians and overall instability in Nigeria. He even said he raised this idea directly with First Lady Oluremi Tinubu during her Washington visit.

Now hear me out. I am happy the bill passed o. Any Calabar person knows what it feels like when insecurity hits your area and federal police take 5 hours to show up. But why is an American politician celebrating our progress more than our own senators? And why is his main concern about Christians when we all know bandits and kidnappers don't check your religion before they strike?

President Tinubu deserves credit for backing this one sha. But be honest. Are we really ready for state police or will governors just turn them into personal thugs like the old days?
