Bandits Strike Kwara Communities, 20 Missing, One Dead

Bandits invaded Gaa-Alla, Gaa Oke Abba, and Famole communities in Kwara state last Thursday around 10pm, killing one person and abducting at least 20 residents. The state police commissioner, Adekimi Ojo, confirmed only two people taken from Gaa-Alla, but local sources say the actual number is much higher.

In Famole community, residents reportedly fought back with guns, leading to a gun battle that left one person dead. The exact number kidnapped from Gaa Oke Abba is still unknown as efforts to assess the damage continue.

This is happening in Isin and Ifelodun local government areas — not some remote border zone. If bandits can coordinate simultaneous attacks in Kwara like this, what hope do rural communities have? Anybody with family in those areas should check on them right now.
