Katsina Gov Dikko Radda says repentant bandits welcome, I no know wetin to think

Katsina State Governor Dikko Radda don talk say government ready to support bandits wey want renounce violence and reintegrate back to society. He made this announcement on Thursday during inauguration of 152 housing units for IDPs in Jibia Local Government Area.

Radda urge those involved in banditry and kidnapping to lay down their arms and return to communities. He say individuals wey abandon criminal activities go get access to opportunities to rebuild their lives through lawful means. The housing project wey start October 2024 na partnership between Katsina State Government and development partners like UNDP, German Government through GIZ and Norwegian Government.

I see the logic — if bandit genuinely drop gun, better to integrate am than push am back to bush. But the question wey dey my mind: how you go trust somebody wey don terrorize communities, kidnap our children and destroy villages? The governor say security don improve for Jibia, farmers dey return to farms. But this policy, e fit work for real or e just dey encourage more criminality? I no fit shout but this one need serious conversation.
