Osun lawmakers blow whistle on CP, call for his redeployment before 2026 election

Osun State lawmakers don tire for their CP o. Speaker Adewale Egbedun and 32 other federal and state lawmakers just hold press conference for Osogbo demanding immediate redeployment of CP Ibrahim Gotan. Dem say the man dey partisan and don fail to provide security ahead of the August 15, 2026 governorship election.

According to the Speaker, the CP hardly attend State Security Council meetings since May 2025, dey send junior officers instead. The lawmakers even claim say police no fit arrest people wey dey commit crime in broad daylight with branded vehicles and caught on video. Egbedun ask: "How would crimes committed in broad daylight, in branded vehicles, caught on tapes not be tracked and perpetrators arrested 72 hours after those shootings?"

The caucus also accuse police of trying to weaken Amotekun operations while hundreds of Accord party billboards dey vandalized without any arrest. Dem get intelligence say APC leaders allegedly planning targeted attacks before the election, maybe even to trigger state of emergency.
