Edo govt reopens schools just 4 days after closure over abduction plot

Edo State government just reopened the three schools they shut down on Tuesday over plans to mass abduct students. Ososo Grammar School, Ososo Comprehensive High School, and Makeke Secondary School are all resuming on Monday, June 15.

The permanent secretary Enodolomwanyi Otamere said security measures have been enhanced and they're satisfied with the arrangements. But I'm side-eyeing this hard — you close schools on a Tuesday because of an abduction plot, then reopen by the next Monday?

Meanwhile WASSCE candidates were allowed in under strict security during the closure, so at least that's something. But parents must be confused as hell. Who is really confident about sending their child back to school 4 days after an abduction scare?
