Fresh Plateau killings — 3 dead in Riyom LGA, armed groups shifting base

Three people were killed in Riyom LGA, Plateau State, between Wednesday night and Thursday morning. The Berom Youth Moulders Association confirmed that armed men invaded Sol village in Ta-Hoss community around 9:20pm on Wednesday, killing Davou Dalyop Patu, 48, and Dalyop Zaram, 38. Then on Thursday morning, while the bodies were being taken to the mortuary, another man — Toma Chuwang, 55 — was shot dead at a mining site in Bangai, same LGA.

The group says the attackers may be relocating from Barkin Ladi because of intensified security operations by SSS and other agencies there. So this is spreading to new areas. Residents are scared. The state government has restricted night mining and night grazing, but these fresh attacks show it's not enough.

This is the same state where 8 people were killed during a birthday celebration in Gwon-Ajang village on June 2, and 12 people including pregnant women were killed in Bassa on May 9. When will this end?
