Peter Obi says elections are rigged because Nigerians want it

Peter Obi dropped a bomb in Washington o. The NDC presidential candidate told Nigerians there that elections are rigged because we want them to be rigged. He said if we vote and stay at our polling unit to protect our votes, they will count. But some people prefer to go to church night vigil after voting instead of staying to monitor their votes.

Obi said verbatim: "Elections are rigged in Nigeria because Nigerians want it to be rigged." He said he will do whatever is possible to protect votes come 2027 but it is left for Nigerians to decide if their votes will count. He added that the problem of Nigeria is leadership and that God gave Nigeria everything.

I get his frustration but this one is a tough sell. Many people have been killed or beaten for trying to protect their votes. You cannot blame the average voter when the system is armed against them. The question is, if INEC and security agencies are compromised, what can a group of unarmed citizens really do at a polling unit?
