Ogun Governor Vows 95% Votes for Tinubu in 2027 – Na Real?
Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun has pledged that the state will deliver 95 percent of its votes to President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general elections. He made this declaration on Friday during a strategic APC meeting at the Presidential Lodge in Ibara, Abeokuta. According to Abiodun, Tinubu deserves a second term because of the far-reaching economic reforms his administration has initiated.
I dey wonder where this confidence dey come from. Abiodun said the primaries in Ogun were peaceful and transparent, and he praised party members for their unity. He even claimed that the Ijebu axis will produce the deputy governor candidate, since the governorship candidate Senator Solomon Adeola is from Ogun West. The governor also said his administration broke a 50-year jinx by allowing Ogun West to produce a candidate for the first time since the state was created.
But 95 percent? Abeg, that number is ambitious. Even in a strong APC state like Ogun, that kind of margin is hard to achieve, especially with the current economic hardship. People are suffering, and no amount of infrastructure projects will erase the pain of high fuel prices and inflation. I just hope the governor is not setting the president up for disappointment. What do you think – can any state truly deliver 95 percent for one candidate in a free and fair election?
