Tinubu says military killed 13,000 terrorists but kidnappings are still everywhere

President Bola Tinubu just told us on Democracy Day that the military has neutralised over 13,000 terrorists in one year and that 124,000 fighters and their families have surrendered through Operation Safe Corridor. He also claimed the death toll from armed groups is down 81 percent since he took over.

But let me ask you something. If we are killing 13,000 terrorists, why are schools still being raided like it's a normal Tuesday? Just last month 46 people were kidnapped from a school in Oyo State. Just on Monday the military said it rescued 360 people from Boko Haram in Borno. So which one is the real story? The victory speech or the daily abduction headlines?

I am not saying the military is lying. But I sell in Balogun market and I know the difference between a sales pitch and actual profit. Tinubu can give us all the numbers he wants but until my sister in Kaduna can send her children to school without fear, I am not buying it. Be honest, do you actually feel safer today than one year ago?
