So President Tinubu don finally announce the national awards for 51 Nigerians during his Democracy Day broadcast on Friday. Among the names na General Shehu Musa Yar'Adua, and they even rename the Institute of Petroleum Studies in Kaduna to General Shehu Musa Yar'Adua University of Geological Sciences and Engineering Technology to honour am. Plus lawyers, journalists, retired military officers, and pro-democracy activists wey suffer for this country so we fit get democracy today.

Tinubu talk say, "I dey happy too to announce national awards to the following Nigerians wey suffer persecution, endure shame, exile, prison, and sometimes solitary confinement, so we fit get democracy today." The man talk say democracy no go be solid if security no dey, and he don approve recruitment of over 50,000 new police officers and thousands of military recruits. He even threaten bandits and kidnappers say surrender or face full force of Nigeria, and the chance to surrender no go remain open forever.

Now the question wey dey my mind be: all this awards and big grammar, e go translate to better life for ordinary Nigerians wey dey chop beans for market? Or na just another round of handshake and photo ops while the real issues dey?
