Tinubu don finally remember June 12 heroes with national honours

President Bola Tinubu don announce plans to award national honours to over 30 people wey suffer for Nigeria democracy struggle. The list include veteran journalists like Tunde Fagbenle, Oladele Alake, and democracy activists like Ayo Opadokun, Debo Adeniran, and Joe Okei-Odumakin. Even some military officers wey stand for democracy during the dark days of military rule dey included.

Tinubu talk say, “I am pleased to announce national awards to Nigerians who suffered persecution, endured indignities, exile, incarceration and, at times, solitary confinement, so that we have democracy today.” The man also rename the Institute of Petroleum Studies in Kaduna to General Shehu Musa Yar'Adua University of Geological Sciences and Engineering Technology.

Abia State Governor Alex Otti add say democracy never fail us, na we fail ourselves with our bad decisions. Abi wetin una think, this honours come too late or e better late than never?
