So the Central Bank of Nigeria just dropped PSV 2028 on June 1, and the target is to push formal financial inclusion to 95% by 2028. Right now only 52% of adults actively use digital payments, and 26% of bankable adults still get no service at all. The CBN say agent banking networks don blow to over two million agents nationwide, and electronic payment value don jump by 203.51% since 2022 to ₦1.2 quadrillion. But the real gist be say dem don shift focus from just domestic to regional — dem want make Nigeria become the payments hub for Africa, connect all the markets, use stablecoins and eNaira to cut remittance costs from 8.46% to 5% or less.

I dey look this thing and I ask myself — all these policies dey sound sweet for paper, but how many of us wey dey Aba market fit trust say our money go safe? The CBN say dem go use AI-powered National Payment SOC to cut fraud losses by 70% by 2028. But the same people wey dey struggle to use BVN wey get 66 million unique IDs now, dem suppose understand stablecoin and CBDC? Na wa o. The ambition dey there, but the ground reality for places like Aba, Onitsha, or even Ilorin — e still far.

I just dey wonder, with all this talk of 95% inclusion and regional hub status, who exactly dey left behind for this race? Na the poor man for village wey still dey hide him money under mattress? Or na the trader wey no get smartphone? Wetin be your own experience with this digital payments thing?
