Lagos is running circles around other states and the data proves it

So the new Phillips Consulting State Performance Index just dropped and Lagos ranked first in Economic Potential and first in Socioeconomic Performance. Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu's administration is celebrating but honestly this is decades of work across multiple governments not just one person. The report says Lagos generates more internally generated revenue than any other state and has built an economy driven by commerce logistics tech manufacturing and entertainment not just federal allocation.

What got me is how they highlighted institutional continuity. Most states change government and everything flips upside down but Lagos has maintained a common development direction across administrations. Infrastructure revenue administration urban planning all consistent. Meanwhile other states are still fighting over who controls the local government allocation. The question I keep asking myself is why other states cannot replicate this model. Is it political will or is Lagos just operating on a different level entirely?
