Igbo communities must defend themselves now, Rep Obi Aguocha warns
5 months ago
Rep Obi Aguocha, the member representing Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal constituency, has told Igbo families and communities to defend themselves against bandits. He raised the alarm after two indigenes from his country home in Ohuhu, Dennis Izuchukwu Okechi and Mrs Onyinyechi Ekechukwu, were rescued from kidnappers on Thursday night. Aguocha said another victim, Uche Amaechi from Akpahia, has been missing for five weeks now.
This man is speaking facts. He said, 'Insurgency is coming to Ala Igbo and what I am saying is that we should defend our families and communities. We can no longer say it silently because if we keep quiet, these people can come in and strangle us in our sleep.' He even acknowledged government efforts but made it clear we must be vigilant ourselves. I am tired of people saying we should wait for security agencies while bandits are abducting our people in Umuahia.
I know some of you will say this is dangerous talk and will lead to mob justice. But be honest, what is the alternative when the state cannot protect you? Let's argue this.
