Troops foiled Boko Haram attack in Borno yesterday
5 months ago
Troops of Operation Hadin Kai, working with CJTF, foiled a terrorist infiltration attempt at Buni Yadi on June 9. They neutralized two Boko Haram/ISWAP fighters and recovered a motorcycle. The military said the terrorists were advancing towards the training school before they were engaged.
In a separate operation along the Sierra 4 axis in Damboa, troops arrested two suspected logistics suppliers — Mallam Bako Ibrahim and Abu Aji. Another suspect, Musa Idi, was picked up along the Mandaragirau-Sabon Gari Road. They were caught with 19 wristwatches, one large mat, a transistor radio, and two cartons of agro-allied chemicals intended for terrorist use.
Then a 23-year-old, Adams Shittima, was arrested at about 5:58 a.m. on June 9 while trying to buy farm implements and mosquito nets for terrorists. He confessed to providing both logistics support and information to the insurgents in Damboa LGA. These arrests show how deep the support networks run — it is not just fighters, it is the people supplying them. Makes you wonder who else is quietly feeding the insurgency in your own community.
