Mbah warns criminals to leave Enugu after 6 notorious suspects captured with massive arms cache
5 months ago
Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State gave criminals a clear warning yesterday after security agencies captured six notorious suspects on the watchlist and recovered a ridiculous amount of weapons — 17 AK-47 rifles, one GPMG, rocket-propelled rifle, over 1,000 rounds of ammunition, and even military uniforms. The governor said at the DSS headquarters in Enugu, "If you commit crime here, no matter how long it takes, we must identify you, we must get you, and we must ensure that you are brought to justice."
Mbah also told landlords they must do background checks on tenants or face prosecution and demolition of properties linked to crime. He said the state's investment in security technology is paying off, and the sacrifice of officers killed last December is not in vain. This is the kind of energy we need from every state government — no hiding place for criminals.
Na who still dey doubt that security can improve if government commits real resources? The question is, how many other states are ready to match this level of seriousness?
