The day my scholarship money vanished into thin air

Last year during first semester, I almost dropped out. Not because of grades, but because my scholarship payment just... disappeared.

I had been waiting for the money to hit my account for two weeks. My feeding budget was already finished , I was surviving on one meal a day, sharing garri with my roommate. Then I got an email saying the funds had been disbursed. I checked my account. Nothing.

I went to the bank, they said the transaction was successful on their end. The school said they sent it. Three days of running around, nobody taking responsibility. I was ready to pack my bag and go back to Awka.

Then my mother called. She didn't even ask about money. She just said "Emeka, I dreamed about you last night. You will not be ashamed." I swear, that woman's prayers hold me together.

The money finally showed up a week later. The bank had credited it to someone else's account by mistake. They refunded it. But that week taught me something , Nigeria will test your patience at every corner. You just have to hold steady.

Now I keep screenshots of everything. And I never let one bad week make me forget why I'm here.
