Wizkid vs Davido: I said what I said about who carries the culture better

I have been listening to both of them since 2014 and I am tired of pretending. Wizkid's music travels. You go to Accra, they play Wizkid. You go to London, they play Wizkid. You go to a wedding in Kano, na Wizkid dey close the dance floor. Davido is a great performer, no doubt, but Wizkid's sound is the one that made the world pay attention to Nigerian music. Made in Lagos is an album that did not need any gimmick.

Davido knows how to market himself well. He is a businessman. But Wizkid is the artist. The one who can sit in a studio for months and come out with something that changes the mood of a whole continent. My husband and I argue about this every weekend. He says Davido's energy is unmatched for parties. I say energy is not the same as staying power. You can dance to Davido today and forget the song tomorrow. Wizkid's songs stay in your spirit.

I am not saying Davido is not talented. I am saying the hierarchy is clear. Which side are you on?
