Terrorists Kill 19 Farmers in Zamfara – No Police Confirmation Yet
5 months ago
Terrorists attacked Gora Namaye district in Maradun Local Government Area of Zamfara State yesterday, killing 19 farmers and injuring 12 others. According to the councilor representing Faru/Magami ward, Bello Hussaini, the bandits stormed the community on motorcycles and started shooting sporadically. He confirmed 18 persons were killed initially, with one of the injured later dying, bringing the total to 19.
This is yet another grim reminder that banditry in the Northwest has not abated despite all the government operations. The attackers came in large numbers, armed and organized, targeting people who were simply trying to feed their families. Our farmers are being slaughtered in their own fields, and the police have not even issued a statement to confirm this latest attack.
When will this end? When will the government take responsibility for protecting rural communities? The silence from security agencies is deafening. If these were politicians or wealthy businessmen, the response would be immediate. But farmers in Zamfara? They are left to die without even a police confirmation. How many more must we lose before something changes?
