Gunmen kill 6-year-old boy, vice principal during WAEC exam attack in Kogi

Last Wednesday, bandits attacked Government Secondary School in Iluke Bunu, Kogi State, killing three people including a six-year-old boy named Sunday Ayele and the vice principal Ganiyu Anifowose. They came dressed in military uniforms to deceive everyone.

According to Kogi commissioner Kingsley Fanwo, the attackers had already disrupted the ongoing WAEC exam and started marching students into the bush before security forces engaged them. All students were rescued safely, but three community members lost their lives.

Meanwhile, DSS has alerted NSCDC about a planned mass abduction of schoolchildren in Edo North Senatorial District, with one suspect Emmanuel Momidu already arrested while scouting a school in Akoko Edo LGA. Our schools are literally becoming battle zones and nobody seems to have a real solution.
