Boko Haram struck Borno Army base again — 8 soldiers killed

Boko Haram insurgents attacked 162 Battalion along Mandara-Buratai Road in Borno State on Friday June 5, killing eight soldiers and beheading them. The attack happened around 4am during heavy rainfall, catching troops off guard.

A military source at the base told SaharaReporters, "They killed eight soldiers and beheaded them. Several others were injured during the attack." The terrorists overran parts of the facility before reinforcements arrived.

This is the same area where I am posted for NYSC and it is terrifying to see these attacks still happening. We need serious security reform in the North-East before more lives are lost.
