Police still dey drag feet on N50m court order for Alex Ogbu family

Justice for Alex group don write IGP Olatunji Disu again o. Earlier this week, June 11, dem submit petition for Force Headquarters demanding immediate payment of the N50 million compensation wey court award to family of late journalist Alex Ogbu. The guy wey police kill while covering Shi'ite protest for Abuja in January 2020. Court say pay up, but police dey do as if nothing happen.

The petition signed by Francisca Ogbu, Dimeji Macaulay, Gerald Katchy and Salako Kayode say the delay is violation of rule of law. Dem quote Justice Mohammed Abubakar of FCT High Court judgment wey order police to pay. But since 2020, nothing. How many years police go take obey court? Ogbu was a journalist with RegentAfrica Times, killed by bullet during confrontation near Federal Secretariat. This one no be small thing.
