My landlady called NEPA and demanded they bring light back immediately
5 months ago
My landlady in Enugu is something else. Yesterday light went at 6pm and by 6:05pm she had called the NEPA office and was shouting into the phone saying "Oga, I pay my bill every month, bring my light back now or I will come to your office with my prayer warriors." I swear I heard the person on the other end laughing.
Then she stood outside and started praying against the darkness. Full Igbo prayers. My roommate and I were inside using our phone torches to find the garri and we just looked at each other like God when? The woman actually believes she can command electricity to return by faith alone. I respect the confidence sha.
Meanwhile my data subscription finished at 7pm and I had to decide between buying data or buying akara for dinner. I chose akara. The darkness won that night but at least my stomach was full. Anyone else's parents or landlords think NEPA has a customer service desk that responds to threats? 😭
