The North needs to stop blaming Tinubu and fix itself

I just read this article that dropped today June 14 calling out the North as a recalcitrant behemoth and honestly it got me thinking. The writer said something that hit me: when the north has power, its gains fritter away into individual aggrandisement rather than regional development. Look at Buhari's eight years — no Abuja-Kaduna-Kano expressway. But Tinubu is completing AKK pipeline and pushing Kano-Katsina-Maradi rail. So who is the problem?

The article also said the north is more active in debating a young polygamous couple's drama than tackling terrorism that has ravaged the region for almost two decades. Men have been emasculated by vanities while insecurity and economic depreciation take over. Tinubu cannot save us. Buhari came and went. The emancipation of the north is not a man's job. So why do northerners keep waiting for a savior from outside?

Be honest. Is the north really waiting for rescue or is it time to hold ourselves accountable for the mess?
