Falana drops truth bomb: Negotiating with terrorists is 20 years jail term

Human rights lawyer Femi Falana just called out FG and state governors yesterday at Amnesty International AGM in Abuja. He said negotiating with terrorists and bandits is actually illegal under Nigerian law. According to Falana, officials have been meeting with these criminals, forgiving them, and even giving them cash gifts.

He quoted Section 22 of the Terrorism Act — anyone who arranges, manages, or attends a meeting connected to a terrorist group faces minimum 20 years imprisonment. So if governors are sitting down with bandits, aren't they technically committing an offence themselves? Or does the law only apply to common citizens?

So who is going to arrest these officials who have been 'pampering' terrorists instead of prosecuting them? The same government that is supposed to enforce the law is the one breaking it. Make it make sense.
