When your generator noise becomes the neighborhood alarm clock

So yesterday my landlord decided 5am was the perfect time to test the new generator. Omo, that thing sounded like a dying cow giving birth to a motorcycle. The whole street woke up. Dogs started barking. Someone's baby started crying. Even the roosters were confused.

I checked my phone and saw 3 missed calls from my neighbor downstairs. She sent a text that said, 'Abeg is your generator or is the world ending?' I didn't even know how to respond.

Nigerians and generators ehn. We have a love-hate relationship that's more toxic than my last situationship. At least with the ex I could block the number. This one I'm paying for the fuel myself.
