Anambra Government Arrests Pastor Accused of Marrying 75 Married Women

The Anambra State Government has arrested Pastor Harrison Charles, founder of Day Spring Assembly in Awada, Onitsha, for allegedly taking 75 married women from their husbands and making them his wives. Operatives of Agunechemba detained the cleric on Saturday after viral videos surfaced with accusations from alleged victims and relatives.

Special Adviser to Governor Chukwuma Soludo on Media, Dr. Ejimofor Opara, confirmed that security operatives found 11 babies in the pastor’s residence during the arrest. Charles claimed to be the father of the children, born by 11 of his wives, but said he does not know how many wives or children he has. Opara stated, “Pastor Harrison Charles was arrested by operatives of Agunechemba following a viral video containing several allegations against him.” The pastor has been handed over to police for investigation as part of the state’s crackdown on fake religious leaders.
