Atiku drags Tinubu over General Rabe's death in bandit captivity

So Atiku Abubakar of ADC has come out to say that General Rabe's death in bandit hands is a direct result of Tinubu's failure on security. The former VP released a statement yesterday, June 14, calling it a damning indictment of this government. He said, and I quote, 'General Rabe devoted the better part of his life to defending Nigeria. That such a man could end up dying in the hands of criminals is both heartbreaking and unacceptable.'

But the thing wey make am even worse na wetin happen the same day. Terrorists attacked Kautikari community in Chibok LGA, Borno, and set primary and secondary schools on fire. Chibok of all places. The same Chibok where over 270 schoolgirls were kidnapped in 2014. Atiku pointed out that this is not just a coincidence but a sign that the nation is losing the gains from years of sacrifice. He also noted that about 90 schoolchildren and teachers abducted from Oyo and Borno since May 15 are still in captivity.

General Rabe died from diabetes and hypertension complications while being held. A retired Major General, former Director of Defence Information. If our own military leaders cannot be safe, who can? The question Atiku left us with is simple: after billions spent on security and countless lives lost, why are we still seeing this kind of tragedy?
