Falz Accuses Tinubu of Renting Counter-Protesters at EndInsecurity March
5 months ago
Folarin Falana, known as Falz, has directly accused President Bola Tinubu of renting a crowd of counter-protesters to oppose the #EndInsecurity protest that took place on Democracy Day, June 12, 2026. In an Instagram video shared over the weekend, Falz claimed that the Tinubu administration hired mostly women to show up as counter-protesters. He said, and I quote: "What was wild to see was that Tinubu and his supporters had rented a crowd of counter protesters, the majority of which were women. These women has children."
This is a deeply troubling allegation that cuts to the heart of how this government treats citizen dissent. Falz, alongside his father Femi Falana and activist Omoyele Sowore, joined the protest to demand action on the worsening insecurity — the mass abductions, the Woro community massacre in Kwara where about 200 people were killed and 176 taken hostage in February, the children still missing from Oyo state schools. Instead of addressing these horrors, the administration apparently chose to stage-manage opposition.
If this is true, it means the government is spending public money to silence voices calling for the safety of our children and communities. Falz ended his video with a warning that should shake every Nigerian: "This is literally the end of us if we allow this to continue." The question is, who is paying for these rented crowds, and how many more lives will be lost before this government treats insecurity as the emergency it is?
