EXCLUSIVE: Six CSO Leaders Detained By EFCC After Alleging Multi-Billion-Naira Fraud Under Ex-IGP Egbetokun; Audio Reveals How CP Fakorede Arranged Me

Six civil society leaders who accused former Inspector-General of Police Kayode Egbetokun of multi-billion-naira fraud have been detained by the EFCC under controversial circumstances. The activists, part of the CSOs Budget Implementation Committee, had planned a press conference and peaceful protest on June 12, 2026, over alleged financial misconduct during Egbetokun's tenure.

According to sources, Commissioner of Police Akin Fakorede allegedly arranged a meeting with the group in Abuja after the protest plans became public. The activists attended believing they would discuss their petition, but were arrested, detained overnight, and transferred to the EFCC. Those detained include Ade Mario Emmanuel, John Adeshina, Philip, Kizito, Henry, and an unnamed female member. Sources allege the detainees are now being accused of extortion after Fakorede allegedly induced conversations about a N200 million demand to suspend the protest.
