Nigeria president Tinubu exppress shock ova death of retired major general Rabe Abubakar for bandit hand

President Bola Tinubu has expressed shock over the death of retired Major General Rabe Abubakar, who died in terrorist captivity in Katsina state. The Nigerian military confirmed the retired officer's death on Saturday, saying he lost his life while being held by his abductors.

"The Defence Headquarters regret to announce the passing of Major General Rabe Abubakar (Retired), who tragically lost his life in captivity following his abduction," the military statement said. Tinubu described the death as a warning to kidnappers to surrender, vowing his government will not bow to their demands. "Bandits, kidnappers, and sponsors of terror gatz surrender now or face the full force of the Nigerian State," Tinubu said. The military withheld public comment during rescue efforts, deploying all operational resources hoping for his safe return. Abubakar was kidnapped last month while traveling to his hometown in Katsina. His wife remains held against her will.
