Kemi Badenoch knocks Nigeria again

UK Conservative Party leader Kemi Badenoch on Saturday criticized Nigeria’s governance, particularly its persistent electricity shortages despite being an oil-producing nation. She argued that poor government decisions have prevented stable development and reliable power for citizens.

“Nigeria is an oil-producing country that has never had electricity,” Badenoch said, blaming weak public policies. She warned that excessive government control and a focus on wealth redistribution can slow economic growth, comparing these to ineffective policies under past military governments. Badenoch added that her upbringing in Nigeria continues to shape her political beliefs, emphasizing that strong leadership and sound policies matter more than natural resource wealth for national development.
