Akpabio daughter got juicy position in NNPC without merit – Oshiomhole
5 months ago
Senator Adams Oshiomhole has alleged that Senate President Godswill Akpabio’s daughter secured a “juicy position” in the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited without due process. Oshiomhole made the claim on the Mic On Podcast, accusing Akpabio of having a personal interest in the NNPC. He said former NNPC Group Chief Executive Officer Mele Kyari facilitated the appointment.
“The Senate President said his daughter was taken by Mele Kyari and put in a, well as Nigerians we say, in a juicy position that he probably didn’t merit,” Oshiomhole stated. He alleged nepotism has turned the NNPC into a “family business,” with officials employing relatives. However, he noted there is nothing wrong if relatives are qualified and recruited properly. “You can only make an issue if you give them a job they did not merit,” he added.
