Which dream don die for you this year? Let's talk small
5 months ago
I was at a youth fellowship meeting last night and one of my boys just dropped it plain. He said, Pastor, I have stopped dreaming. I don tire to dream. The thing hit me because I looked around the room and I saw the faces. Young people, graduates, some with jobs, some without. And the energy was just flat. Nobody dey excited about tomorrow again.
I remember when I was their age, we had this fire. We believed if you work hard, Nigeria will reward you. But now? My sister who just got her masters from UNN is packing garri to sell on Instagram. My neighbour's son who studied engineering is driving Bolt. And these are not lazy people. These are people who did everything right and still the system failed them.
So I am asking you, my people. What is the one dream you have quietly let go this year? And be honest. Is it buying that land in Enugu? Is it japa to Canada? Is it even getting married? No be everything wey dey happen we understand. But maybe if we talk about it, the burden will share small. Nwanne, wetin don die for you?
