Following earlier post, here are some important updates and clarifications about the Federal Government's newly launched FreeTV service and how Nigerians can access it.

There are three major ways to watch FreeTV:

1️⃣ Satellite (DTH)

Users with DVB-S2 satellite-enabled televisions or free-to-air satellite receivers can connect directly to the NigComSat platform and enjoy the service.

2️⃣ Terrestrial Television

If your television supports DVB-T2 digital terrestrial broadcasting, you can receive FreeTV channels through terrestrial transmitters available across the country.

3️⃣ Mobile Application

FreeTV is also available on Android devices through its mobile application, which can be downloaded and installed from the Google Play Store.

📌 In Summary:

FreeTV can be accessed nationwide through:

• Satellite transmission

• Digital terrestrial broadcasting

• Mobile devices

What if you have an old analogue television?

There is no need to replace your TV.

All you need is:

✅ A DVB-T2 set-top box, or

✅ A DVB-S2 satellite receiver

These devices will convert the digital signal into a format your television can display.

Also, the previously used encrypted DSO decoders are NOT compulsory for accessing the new FreeTV service.

This initiative is expected to expand access to information, education, entertainment, and public service broadcasting for millions of Nigerians.

Good morning to all patriotic Nigerians.
