Falz just dropped a new song called 'Ole' and the title says it all

Folarin Falana, the lawyer-turned-musician we all know as Falz, released a new track today titled 'Ole' and it is exactly the kind of political commentary we have come to expect from him. The man is 35 years old now and he is still using his platform to call out what is happening in this country. In the song he directly addresses the insecurity, the inflation, the kidnappings, and he does not spare the government one bit.
One line that hit me hard was when he rapped, 'For under your nose dem kill a whole brigadier general. Who dem catch for the crime? Arrest count still on zero.' That is a direct jab at the administration and honestly it is a fair question. How can a brigadier general be killed and nobody is held accountable? He also calls out the economic situation saying, 'Inflation rate is high, like my blood pressure.' That is not just clever wordplay, that is the reality of every Nigerian household right now.
Falz has always been consistent with this kind of music since 'This Is Nigeria' and I respect that he does not back down. But here is my question to everyone who will listen to this song: are we really paying attention or are we just going to nod our heads and move on to the next thing? Because the problems he is singing about are the same ones we complain about every day. Be honest, when was the last time a protest song actually changed anything in this country?
