Akpabio says APC never promised miracles. Nigerians are not amused.

Senate President Godswill Akpabio was in Abuja on Friday launching a new road and bridge in the FCT, and he decided to tell Nigerians that the APC never promised us miracles. He said they promised 'structural, calculated and deliberate progress' through the Renewed Hope Agenda. Meanwhile, the cost of living has been on a steady climb since fuel subsidy was removed and people are struggling to feed.

I understand that governance is not magic. No serious government walks in and waves a wand. But when you have a president who campaigned on 'Renewed Hope' and the reality on ground is that transport fares have tripled, food prices are astronomical, and businesses are shutting down weekly, telling people you never promised miracles feels like a technical legal argument that misses the point entirely. The Senate President said the agenda will touch lives 'not just in economic statistics but in the reality of their daily struggles.' The question is: when does that reality start matching the rhetoric?

This is the same government that asked Nigerians to endure. We have endured. We are still enduring. At some point, 'endurance' stops being a policy and starts being an insult. So I ask: how long exactly before this 'structural progress' shows up in our pockets and on our tables?
