PDP crisis deepens as court grants accelerated hearing
5 months ago
PDP people don dey fight themselves inside court yesterday. The Federal High Court in Abuja ordered accelerated hearing for the case Adolphus Wabara-led BoT of the Kabir Turaki faction file against INEC. Justice Salim Ibrahim give the order because the suit is time-bound based on INEC revised timetable for 2027 elections wey set July as ultimatum.
The drama start when two different SANs show up for the same party. Gordy Uche announce appearance for all plaintiffs including PDP as 8th plaintiff. Then Sunday Ameh stand up and say he dey represent PDP too. Uche tell the court say he find am strange. Another SAN, Adedayo Adedeji, also come to join parties wey want to be added as defendants. George Ibrahim represent the Wike faction of PDP. Everybody dey fight for who go control the party structure.
This one na pure confusion. The Wabara faction want INEC to recognise Turaki as national chairman but the Wike faction don bring their own people. With election timetable already running, who gets INEC recognition go determine a lot.
