My daughter wanted to cook for her Canadian boyfriend, I nearly fainted

Last year during harmattan, my second daughter bring her boyfriend come house. The boy fine sha, I go give am that. He talk well well, greet me proper. But when my daughter say she want cook for am, I just tell am make she go ahead.

She come enter kitchen with the boy. After one hour, I hear am calling me. 'Mama, come see something.' I go kitchen, I nearly fall. The boy dey cut vegetables with my OXO knife wey I buy from Balogun market for ₦4,500. He dey chop the tomatoes like he dey fight dem. My daughter dey laugh. I just look my daughter and ask, 'Who born you? Your mother no teach you how to treat a good knife?'

My daughter say, 'Mama, e be Canadian, e no know.' I say, 'Canadian or no Canadian, if he touch my knife again, e go chop my hand.' The boy laugh but e no touch the knife again o. I cook the stew myself.

When I look back now, I just dey laugh. But that day, I swear, I nearly lose my mind. The thing wey go make you vex pass for this life na when somebody dey misuse your kitchen tools. Anybody wey don suffer for market know say good knife no be beans.
