INEC and security agencies are working together to rig Ekiti election?
Wole Oluyede, the PDP governorship candidate for Ekiti, just accused INEC and security agencies of deliberately sabotaging the election. He said he arrived at Polling Unit 6, Ward 3, Osagulu Hall in Ado-Ekiti by 6:30am but as of 9:45am voting had not started. No explanation from INEC officials or security personnel.
He said they are documenting everything and will go to court if this continues. The people of Ekiti deserve a free and fair election but this kind of delay at the polling unit of a major candidate is suspicious. Who benefits when voting is stalled? Not the ordinary voter who left their house before dawn.
INEC has not responded to these allegations. But we all know how these things go in Nigeria. The question is: will the court actually do anything or will this be another case of election petition that goes nowhere?
