MRS drops fuel price but my people, e no still easy

I just saw the news about MRS reducing fuel pump price. My sister in Ibadan called me this morning, she was happy small. I told her, calm down, let us see how long this one will last. The way things are going, any small reduction is welcome but we know the game.

I remember when I was still in Nigeria, every time they announce price cut, within two weeks something else go up. Transport, food, school fees. The cost of living squeeze is real. My mother still dey call me every week to complain about garri price. I sent her money last week, ₦50,000, and she said it finished before weekend. Na wa oh.

I tell my friends here in London, they don't understand. They think because I send money home, everything is fine. But I see the struggle. The households back home are suffering. Even with this MRS reduction, many families are still choosing between food and transport. God is faithful but e no easy for anybody.
