Nigerian parents and their phone calls be something else

My mother call me yesterday. She pick up and say "Amina, your phone dey ring." I say mummy I know, na you dey call me. She say "Ah, correct. So how market?"

I just dey laugh. Every Nigerian parent does this. Dem go call you, pick up, and tell you say your phone dey ring. As if you no sabi. Or dem go call you for something wey dem fit text. My father once call me from the next room to ask if I see his glasses. The glasses dey on his head.

I am telling you, na wa for these our parents. Dem go spend 30 minutes on phone to ask one question wey get yes or no answer. But you dare cut the call short, dem go say you dey rude.
