Labour leader tells Tinubu: stop acting like emperor, you are tenant in Aso Rock
4 months ago
Comrade Andrew Emelieze, National Coordinator of All Workers Convergence, released a statement yesterday that really got me thinking. He told President Tinubu to stop behaving like an emperor and reminded him that he is just a tenant in Aso Rock, not the landlord. The labour leader said Nigerians under this administration are facing serious economic and social crises, and that the President should go online to see what people are saying about him.
Emelieze did not hold back. He said Tinubu's reign has been calamitous, devastating, hellish and highly injurious to the Nigerian people. He even said if the President has a conscience, he ought to have voluntarily resigned given the mindless killings happening across the country. The man said the general prayer of our people now is that a leader like Tinubu must not happen to us again, and that Nigerians are now chanting TinubuMustGo.
What struck me most was when Emelieze said your days are numbered in Aso Rock, that if you do not leave Aso Rock, Aso Rock will definitely leave you someday. That is a powerful way to put it. But I keep wondering, does any of this get through to the people in power? Or are we just shouting into the void while things keep getting harder for ordinary Nigerians?
