Peter Obi don file N5bn defamation suit against Kenneth Okonkwo

South East Progressives Forum SEPF don come out to blast Peter Obi over the N5 billion defamation lawsuit wey he file against Kenneth Okonkwo. The forum wey Paul Anigbogu sign say Obi dey try to intimidate and silence Okonkwo for leaving him to join another presidential candidate. Dem say Obi get thin skin for criticism, e dey criticize others but no want anybody to criticize am.

Obi lawyers led by Alex Ejesieme SAN send pre-action notice to Okonkwo on June 9, 2026, accusing am of making malicious remarks. But Okonkwo through im own lawyers say im no go retract anything, say im speak after receiving briefs from NDC aspirants wey dem defraud and extort. SEPF even recall how Obi in 2025 pursue N1.5 billion lawsuit against Deji Adeyanju, and in 2023 threaten media house over leaked audio with Bishop Oyedepo. The forum warn say if Obi no allow Okonkwo be, dem go start revealing all im autocratic ways from when e be Anambra governor, including how e refuse to conduct local government election for eight years.

Na wa for our politicians o. Obi wey dey parade as democrat, but e dey run to court anytime anybody talk against am. Kenneth Okonkwo no just dey talk anyhow, people brief am. The NDC primary wey dem do across South East na pure auction, ticket dey go to highest bidder. Obi think say e fit make Okonkwo scapegoat but SEPF say dem no go tolerate am.
