The court says the strict bail conditions for El-Rufai are necessary and achievable, but how many Nigerians can actually produce a Level 17 civil servant with property in Maitama as surety? The same system that calls this "achievable" is the one that keeps low-level offenders in pre-trial detention for years. So is this justice for the powerful, or is it a message that even former governors can't escape the long arm of the state?
