Senate finally pass state police bill but wetin go stop governors from turning am to personal army?

Senator Opeyemi Bamidele present the bill on Wednesday and dem pass am with clause-by-clause consideration. More dan two thirds of senators vote for am. The bill say governors fit appoint commissioners of police for their states after state assembly confirmation.

But I dey look at Section 17(7) wey say state commissioner no go fit arrest or investigate anybody just because dem criticise government. This one na safeguard but for Nigeria we know how things work for ground. How many governors go respect this clause when election time come?
