Tinubu's spokesman says he doesn't see hunger Nigerians are complaining about
4 months ago
The Obidient Movement just released a statement today slamming Bayo Onanuga for saying on Arise TV that he "does not see the level of hunger people are complaining about." This is the same government that promised us Renewed Hope. Now we are getting Renewed Denial instead.
The Movement's statement called it a profound insult to millions of Nigerians who are skipping meals and watching their businesses collapse. They compared the current situation to before 2015 when a bag of rice was N8,500, bread was N150, and a crate of eggs was N300. The naira was N197 to the dollar back then. Now look at us. Families are begging on the streets in Ibadan, in Kano, in Enugu. And this man says he does not see the hunger.
The irony is not lost on anyone. Tinubu led protests against Goodluck Jonathan calling for his resignation over failed governance. Now his own administration has become what the Movement called the "new S.I. Unit for kakistocracy in history." So my question is simple: how can a government that cannot see its own people suffering ever fix anything?
